Multiple OS
What number of server Operating Systems will you be able to select from?
Every single notebook or desktop or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that communicates with the computer hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse and a printer, as well as any apps that are present on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a server, each and every app runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This goes for both standard website scripts and server-side software like a media server. In case a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, named guest OS and host OS, so you'll be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
If you pick one of our
VPS server solutions, you'll have three different Operating Systems to choose from - CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu. They're all Linux distributions and we offer them instead of offering just a single OS, as the apps that you might choose to run on the server may have specific requirements about the software environment. Each one of these three has certain pros in terms of the available plans that you could later install, but what is common between them is the fact that they are really stable and dependable and have huge communities which support them. The internet hosting Control Panel alternatives for the VPS accounts depend on your Operating System choice, so as to give you more flexibility. When you order the virtual server with one OS and you need a different one later, our tech support team can easily reinstall the VPS with the new one in a matter of minutes. We also offer you the option to keep the Operating System on your server up-to-date weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
We offer three Operating Systems with our
dedicated server plans - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they're freely available and they won't increase the price of your new server, but also because they are exceptionally stable and secure. Each of them is supported by a large community of developers, so you will be able to choose from a myriad of software packages that you could install on your server if the application that you intend to employ has certain requirements. The Operating System will also determine what internet hosting Control Panel you can use since the Control Panels that we offer run on particular OSs only and because we want to give you as much freedom as possible, we offer a couple of OSs and multiple Control Panels. If you choose a server with a certain OS, we will change it upon request in the event that it turns out that you'll need alternative one. We could also keep the OS updated on a weekly basis as part of our additional Managed Services upgrade.
